PROMOTION MONTH! Our next promoted artist is Kaelen Felix.
Kaelen Felix is a native of Saint Louis, Missouri, where she grew up in the Midwest region from the time she can remember. In 2018, she became a graduate of Memphis College of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration; after completing undergraduate school, Kaelen collaborated with remote authors interested in getting their children’s books published!
From 2018 through 2021, Ms. Felix went on to publish, A Colorful Balloon Ride to Freddy the Foster Frog: Finds a Friendly Family (2020), and the newest book she illustrated, Freddy the Foster Frog: Finds a Forever Family (2021), and she assisted as the editorial illustrator for King Leo and the Feast (2021). All the books are available for purchase on Amazon!

Kaelen is best known for becoming Best Book Illustrator and Best Audience Award for illustrating Freddy the Foster Frog and became nominated as the TOP 3 Pick in Judge’s Choice for A Colorful Balloon Ride. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the award ceremony was held virtually in England. This phenomenal achievement gave her more opportunities to pursue her path to becoming the newest social media chair for AIGA STL. She not only does that alongside other things, but she enjoys staying in touch with the recent trends in graphic design illustration, coupled with translating her creative skills in print production and graphic designing!
Usually, when Kaelen isn’t doing her creative art, she has a passion for cooking, reading a book, or hanging out with her lovely boyfriend, Noah! She also enjoys spending time with her friends in the Saint Louis area and enjoys traveling in her spare time. She hopes her creative journey will inspire and benefit some form of mentorship to others.
